LOCAL PROCTORED TESTS
In-person practice testing has resumed in a limited capacity at our Manhattan office. There is a $100 fee for all in-person proctored practice tests. As part of our Practice Test Donation Campaign, 10% of the proceeds from all practice tests will be donated to organizations that enact social change through educational programming! ACT and Digital SAT* (bring your own device): Every Saturday and some Sundays at 9:00 AM, with both standard and extended time. See below for a full list of practice test dates.
RESERVATIONS
Reservations must be made prior to noon on the Friday before the exam. Our rosters do fill in advance so please book well ahead of time. You will receive an email confirmation with further instructions the week of your test date.
ONLINE PROCTORED TESTS
From the comfort of your own home, you can sit for practice tests monitored by a live proctor via Zoom. Online tests are offered every weekend. There is a $50 fee for all online proctored practice tests. We offer SAT and ACT practice tests with standard time at 9 AM and 1 PM Eastern on Saturdays, and 1 PM Eastern on Sundays. We offer SAT and ACT practice tests with extended time at 12:30 PM Eastern on alternate Saturdays.
After you register for an online exam, we will mail over a paper test booklet. We will email you a detailed confirmation including the Zoom link on the week of the exam.
Our *new* fully digital online testing center is also available for practice tests for a $50 fee. These full-length practice tests can be taken any day, any time. See a demo ACT here and a demo SAT here.
SELF-ADMINISTERED TESTS
Available anytime. No fee in most cases. See below to request materials for self-proctoring using our ACT testing videos.
*Please note that some school-issued devices, including Chromebooks, block the use of “unsecure” public wi-fi. Be sure to check your device’s permissions, or to plan to bring a personal device (i.e. laptop, tablet, etc.), prior to test day to ensure that you are able to test on-site without issue.

Compass provides a variety of options for clients and prospective clients to take practice SATs, PSATs, and ACTs under realistic conditions, and our reporting engine provides insights such as Similar Scorers, SAT/ACT Comparison, and Attractor Answers that no other score report can deliver. For students just getting started, practice tests are an essential part of choosing a test, a timeline, and a plan for preparation. For students already working with Compass, practice tests are an essential part of our programs. It’s up to you whether you choose the flexibility of an at home test or the realism of taking a proctored test with other students. Your Compass director or tutor may make specific recommendations based on your needs. Compass directors are available to help you interpret your results and turn them into concrete decisions.
Self-administered exams: At your convenience.
We can set you up with a test and instructions for self-administration at home. We even have online videos to provide virtual proctoring. Once you complete the exam, you can enter your answers yourself for immediate results or let us handle it for you.
Proctored Practice Sessions: Professionally administered, structured environment.
Some students prefer having a live proctor to mimic the exact testing environment. We provide both online and in-person practice test sessions. Your full score report, including essay scoring, is generally available within two business days.
